In his right hand he holds a patera, while his left hand rests on a long sceptre. The composition reflects the syncretic Lydian-Phrygian religious tradition of Nysa and its surrounding region. The reverse legend in Greek identifies the local magistrate responsible for the issue and the civic ethnonym of the Nysaeans. |
