| Reverse description | Demeter standing facing with head turned to the right, her figure rendered in flowing drapery, holding a long torch in her left hand and ears of corn in her right. To her right stands Euthenia, the personification of abundance particular to Alexandria, facing with head turned left, presenting ears of corn in one hand and a long sceptre in the other. The two goddesses form a complementary compositional pairing emblematic of Alexandrian agricultural and civic prosperity. The regnal date legend L ΙΖ (Year 17) appears in the field. |
