| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, a presentation style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The laureate wreath is rendered with fine detail atop the imperial portrait, with the paludamentum visible over the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙϹ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of hammered Alexandrian drachm-sized bronzes of the Hadrianic period. |
