Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered three-quarter from the rear, displaying the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the overlapping scales of the cuirass. The imperial effigy is executed in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with carefully rendered curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, retaining a dark olive-brown patina with traces of green encrustation.
