Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III facing right, with paludamentum visible on the left shoulder. The youthful imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Edessene coinage, with the radiate crown comprising prominent pointed rays. A circular border of dots frames the design, and the Greek imperial legend surrounds the bust in the field.
