| 背面描述 | The infant Dionysus is depicted kneeling atop a draped table or altar, his body facing forward with his head turned to the left. Below the table sits a cista mystica from which a serpent emerges, a symbol of the Dionysiac mysteries prominently associated with the iconography of Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Encircling the infant deity are three Corybantes, each clad in a short military chiton and crested helmet, actively striking their shields with drawn swords in the ritual dance performed to drown out the cries of the hidden divine child. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, identifies the local magistrate responsible for the issue. |
