| Additional information |
Parium, a Roman colony on the southern Marmara coast, was one of the few cities in the Conventus of Adramyteum still producing substantial bronze issues by the late Antonine period. The colony's coinage consistently emphasized its Roman identity rather than local Hellenic traditions — a distinction that set Parion apart from neighboring mints in the same conventus.
The abbreviation C G I H PAR encodes the city's full colonial title, Colonia Gemella Iulia Hadriana Pariana, a designation accumulating honorifics across generations of imperial favor from Caesar through Hadrian.
