| Beschrijving keerzijde | Four nude boys personifying the four Seasons (Horae) depicted in animated, playful poses within the field, representing the concept of prosperous and fortunate times. The figures are arranged in a lively grouping typical of Laodicean civic iconography, conveying abundance and well-being under imperial rule. A horizontal tablet or tabula in the lower portion of the reverse carries part of the civic legend, separated from the figural scene above by a ground line. The reverse type is characteristic of the neocorate issues of Laodicea ad Lycum and is framed by a dotted border. |
