| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two tetrastyle or octastyle temples depicted side by side in three-quarter perspective, their colonnaded facades and pitched pediments rendered with considerable detail. The architectural composition reflects Cyzicus's prestigious status as a twice-neocorate city, each temple symbolising one of the imperial cult establishments. Multiple columns are visible beneath each pediment, and the scene conveys the monumental civic architecture of the city. The multi-line Greek legend wraps around the upper field and continues in the lower exergual area, recording the city's titles and the name of the presiding archon. |
