| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, with her characteristic elaborately waved and ridged coiffure arranged in horizontal bands and gathered at the nape. The empress is depicted with finely rendered drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΑ runs around the periphery, and the whole is framed by a beaded border. |
