| Beschrijving keerzijde | Tyche, the personification of Fortune and the tutelary goddess of Alexandria, is depicted seated to the left upon a throne or chair, her figure rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style. She holds a long rudder in her right hand, symbolising her guidance of fate, and a cornucopia (horn of plenty) in her left arm, representing abundance. The composition is a well-established type on Alexandrian bronze coinage of the imperial period. A partially legible Greek legend appears in the field. |
