(Translation: Emperor Caesar Titus Aelius Hadrian Antoninus Augustus Pius)
Reverse description The emperor, identified as Antoninus Pius, depicted in full military dress mounted on a horse galloping to the right, his right arm raised and thrusting a spear downward at a fallen enemy beneath the horse's hooves. The composition is a dynamic equestrian triumph scene, a type well attested on Alexandrian provincial bronzes commemorating imperial military virtue. The regnal year date appears in the field in Greek numerals. The reverse type evokes the traditional Roman iconography of the emperor as victorious commander.
