Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Alexandrian coinage. The empress is depicted with her characteristic elaborate coiffure, with hair styled in waves and gathered at the nape. The portrait occupies the central field of the flan, with the surrounding Greek legend identifying her as Augusta. The flan shows the irregular edges characteristic of Alexandrian bronze issues of the period.

Reverse description Nilus, the personification of the Nile River, seated left upon rocks, his head turned to the right. The deity holds a reed in one hand and a large cornucopia in the other, from which a small Genius emerges holding a wreath. A crocodile, emblematic of the Nile and Egyptian iconography, climbs the rocks behind the figure. The regnal date appears in the left field. This type is characteristic of the rich Nilotic iconography employed on Alexandrian provincial coinage under Antoninus Pius.
