| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic Alexandrian three-quarter back view. The emperor's head bears a laurel wreath, and the military cloak is visible over the right shoulder. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The portrait follows the conventions of Alexandrian provincial coinage of the mid-second century AD, with bold, high-relief modelling. |
