Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in typical Alexandrian provincial style with naturalistic portraiture. The emperor's effigy shows characteristic features including a short beard and laureate wreath. A Greek legend surrounds the bust, running along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The coin exhibits the broad, irregular flan typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Antonine period.
