| Description de l’avers | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, portrayed with characteristic beard and mature physiognomy in the Alexandrian provincial style. The radiate laurel wreath crowns the emperor's head, with locks of hair visible at the nape. The imperial titulature runs in Greek characters around the periphery of the flan, beginning at upper left and continuing clockwise. The portrait is rendered in moderate relief typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. |

The god holds a tall reed sceptre in his right hand and a cornucopia in his left, from which a small Genius (Nile Genius or Euthenia) emerges, holding a wreath. The regnal year numeral ΙϚ (year 9) appears in the upper field or to the left. The date formula L ΕΝΑΤΟΥ is inscribed in the field, denoting the ninth year of Antoninus Pius's reign in the Alexandrian calendar. |
