| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with a broad, fleshy face and naturalistic portrait detail. The emperor's wreath of laurel is clearly defined, and the portrait conveys the dignified gravitas typical of his Alexandrian coinage. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, running along the rim of the flan. |
