| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style of the Alexandrian mint with characteristic broad facial features and short cropped hair. The Imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters. The portrait exhibits the characteristic mature likeness of Antoninus Pius as established in official Roman Imperial iconography, adapted here to the Egyptian provincial coinage tradition. |
