Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound, rendered in the Antonine court style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The portrait is executed in high relief with fine modeling of the facial features. The Greek legend surrounds the effigy, identifying her as Augusta and daughter of Pius Augustus. The flan shows the characteristic irregular edge typical of hammered Alexandrian bronze issues of the mid-second century.
