| Reverse description | Athena standing facing, head turned to left, clad in chiton and peplos, extending her right hand to hold a small figure of Nike, while her left arm rests upon a large round shield set at her side. The goddess is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition characteristic of Alexandrian civic coinage. The regnal date legend L ΔωΔΕΚΑΤΟΥ is distributed in the field to either side of the figure, denoting the twelfth regnal year of Antoninus Pius in the Egyptian calendar. |
