| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valerian I facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the rear, with the emperor's military attire rendered in characteristic provincial style. The obverse legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΠΟ ΛΙ ΟΥΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟΝ ϹΕ, with the control mark ΙΑ positioned to the right of the bust in the field. The portraiture reflects the provincial Pamphylian die-cutting tradition of the mid-third century AD. |
