| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus enthroned to the left, his body semi-nude, holding a long sceptre in his left hand and a small figure of Nike in his extended right hand. The god is depicted seated on a throne, his legs partially visible beneath drapery. The composition follows the standard Hellenistic iconographic tradition for Zeus as patron deity. The Greek ethnic legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ runs around the border, identifying the issuing city of Aphrodisias, and a dotted border frames the entire design. |
