Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted from the rear, presenting the elaborate military paludamentum and cuirass details characteristic of provincial imperial portraiture. The effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian civic coinage, with the laureate wreath clearly articulated about the head. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production of the Severan period.

Reverse description Tyche, the tutelary deity of Cius, depicted standing left in full figure, wearing a long chiton and himation. She holds a ship's rudder downward in her right hand, symbolising the city's maritime significance, and a cornucopia overflowing with fruits in her left arm, representing abundance and civic prosperity. The figure is rendered in the classical Hellenistic tradition standard to Bithynian provincial coinage of the Severan era. The Greek civic ethnic legend ΚΙΑΝΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Cius.
