| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with short beard rendered in the emperor's characteristic forked style. The radiate crown is prominently depicted with pointed rays. A Greek imperial legend encircles the portrait in the field, reading from left to right around the periphery. The effigy displays the hallmarks of provincial Greek coinage from Bithynia, with robust, slightly coarse engraving typical of the Claudiopolis mint. |
