| Reverse description | Nilus, the personification of the river, seated left upon rocks, his body partially draped. A crocodile climbs the rocky base beneath him, a characteristic motif of Alexandrian Nilus types. The god holds a tall cornucopia from which a small Genius or Agathodaimon figure emerges, bearing a wreath, while Nilus himself holds a reed in his other hand. The regnal year date appears in the field as the sole legend, the reverse field otherwise unencumbered by additional inscription. |
