Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing left, with traces of drapery visible at the truncation, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style. The laureate wreath is rendered with bold, deeply cut leaves characteristic of the Antonine period. The legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters, partially visible on the worn surfaces. The flan is irregular and shows the typical characteristics of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD.
