| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Marcus Aurelius, facing right with the rear of the figure visible, presented in the typical Alexandrian three-quarter rear view convention. The emperor's portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The obverse legend in Greek encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
