| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing figure of the lunar deity Mên Kamareites, facing, with head turned to left and wearing the characteristic Phrygian cap adorned with a crescent behind his shoulders. The deity holds a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand, attributes standard to Mên iconography in Lydian civic coinage. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, names the local magistrate and the civic ethnic of the Nysaeans. The composition reflects the syncretic religious traditions of the Maeander valley, where Mên enjoyed particular veneration. |
