| Beschrijving keerzijde | A walking sphinx facing right occupies the central field, wearing a composite Egyptian crown consisting of a solar disc, cow horns, and double feathers atop its head, signifying a syncretic Graeco-Egyptian religious identity. A crocodile, emblematic of the Nile and of Egypt itself, is depicted emerging from the chest of the sphinx, an iconographically distinctive and rare type. The sphinx treads upon a serpent coiled beneath its forepaws. Above the sphinx, a small figure of Athena advances to the right, brandishing a spear in her right hand and holding a wreath in her left, rendered in a miniature but detailed style characteristic of Alexandrian civic bronzes. The regnal date legend appears in the right field. |
