| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, is depicted seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, her turreted head framing her serene countenance. In her extended right hand she holds a small figure of Nike (Victory), while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with abundance, symbolising the prosperity of the city of Lyrbe. The reverse legend encircling the type identifies the issuing community in the genitive case, a standard formula for provincial civic bronze coinage of the Roman imperial period. |
