| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in three-quarter perspective, a common convention in late Severan and Gordian-era provincial coinage. The emperor's effigy is rendered with careful attention to military dress, the paludamentum visible over the cuirassed shoulder. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend disposed around the bust. The flan is broad but irregular, typical of Bithynian provincial bronze issues of the period. |
