Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass articulated at the lower truncation. The Greek legend encircles the effigy in the field, reading ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΟϹ. The portrait displays the characteristic compact features and short beard associated with Caracalla's mature coinage, rendered in the provincial style of Bithynian mint engravers.
