| Reverse description | Sarapis enthroned, seated to the left, wearing the modius (kalathos) upon his head, his right hand extending a patera over Cerberus seated at his feet, and his left hand holding a long sceptre. The composition follows the standard Alexandrian iconographic type of Sarapis widely disseminated across eastern provincial coinage of the Antonine period. The magistrate's name and ethnic of the city of Tralles appear in the surrounding Greek legend. |
