| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing left, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical Antonine style, with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The surrounding Greek legend runs along the coin's periphery. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical provincial patination consistent with bronze coinage of Asia Minor. |

| Additional information |
Ceramus was a minor Carian city whose civic coinage under Antoninus Pius is exceptionally rare, with the magistrate name preserved in this legend — Themistocles Protoleon — appearing in only a handful of recorded specimens. The partially legible archon title suggests a local administrative post, likely annual, of the kind common to Carian cities operating under the Roman conventus system centered at Alabanda.
The Protoleon component of the magistrate's name is unusual and may reflect a local honorific tradition rather than a standard Greek cognomen.
