| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius wearing the paludamentum (military cloak), facing right. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic beard and mature physiognomy in the Alexandrian provincial style. A Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially preserved, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and shows typical surface patination of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. |
