Additional information

Year 21 of Antoninus Pius's reign, which is what the regnal date L ΚΑ records. Alexandria's imperial bronze issues were tied entirely to the Egyptian calendar and local administrative needs — they did not circulate outside Egypt, functioning within a closed monetary system that Rome deliberately maintained to control grain revenue from the province. Egypt remained off-limits to senators without imperial permission for precisely this reason.
