| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian facing right, portrayed from behind, displaying the elaborate pteryges of his cuirass and the folds of his paludamentum. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Lydian mint of Tralles. A Greek legend surrounds the bust along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
