(Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Severus Alexander Augustus)
Reverse description The emperor Severus Alexander depicted as city founder (conditor coloniae), striding right while ploughing with an ox and cow yoked to a plough, his right hand raised in a gesture of augury or salutation. Above the scene, a motab altar with a stepped staircase supports three conical piles of sacred stones (baetyli), a distinctively Nabataean religious motif reflecting the syncretic character of the Bostra mint. The reverse legend naming the colony encircles the field.
