| 裏面の説明 | Two standing male figures, the Demoi (personifications of the civic peoples) of Aphrodisias and Antioch, depicted facing one another in a scene of Homonoia (civic concord). Each figure holds a long sceptre in the outer hand and extends the inner hand to clasp that of the other in a dextrarum iunctio gesture, symbolising the alliance between the two cities. The Greek legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ ΔΗΜΟΙ ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ is distributed around the field, identifying the two civic communities and the concept of concord celebrated by this issue. |
