| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Mamaea, Augusta and mother of Severus Alexander, facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the court fashion of the Severan period. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, reading ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΜΑΜΕΑ ϹΕΒ. The portrait is rendered in the typical provincial style of Carian civic coinage, with fine drapery folds visible at the shoulder. |

| Reverse description | Two standing male figures, the Demoi (personifications of the civic peoples) of Aphrodisias and Antioch, depicted facing one another in a scene of Homonoia (civic concord). Each figure holds a long sceptre in the outer hand and extends the inner hand to clasp that of the other in a dextrarum iunctio gesture, symbolising the alliance between the two cities. The Greek legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ ΔΗΜΟΙ ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ is distributed around the field, identifying the two civic communities and the concept of concord celebrated by this issue. |
