| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two hexastyle temples face each other in a three-quarter perspective view, each with six columns and a pediment surmounted by a globe, evoking the neocorate status of Nicomedia. Between the two temple facades stands a tall column topped by a statue of a male figure, identified as an emperor or divinity, leaning on a sceptre with his left hand. The architectural composition is rendered with careful attention to depth and symmetry, a hallmark of prestigious civic issues. The reverse legend proclaiming the city's twice-neocorate honour encircles the design. |
