| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the characteristic Severan fashion, with a stephane or diadem visible atop the head. The empress is depicted with a fleshy, rounded face and heavy drapery over the shoulder and chest. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying her as Augusta. The strike is somewhat uneven due to the irregular flan, typical of provincial bronze coinage of this period. |
