Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II as Caesar facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal perspective. The portrait displays youthful features with close-cropped hair, the shoulders articulated with military cuirass and paludamentum. The circular Greek legend Μ ΙΟΥΛ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ runs around the periphery of the field. A piercing hole is visible at the upper portion of the flan, indicating later use as a pendant or amulet. The engraving style is consistent with the provincial Phrygian workshop tradition of the mid-third century AD.
