| Reverse description | Cybele, the Anatolian mother goddess, enthroned and facing left, holds a patera in her extended right hand. She is flanked by two lions in crouching postures: one rests at her feet to the left with its head turned back, while the second crouches behind her to the right. The composition reflects the strong local cult veneration of Cybele in Lydia, and the reverse legend names the civic magistrate responsible for the issue. The Greek legend fills the field around the central type. |
