Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gaius Julius Verus Maximus Caesar facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Severan-Gordian transitional period. The paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, and the cuirass is indicated by incised detailing. The portrait is encircled by a beaded border, with the Greek legend distributed around the periphery of the field.

Reverse description Tyche standing to the left, wearing a kalathos (modius) upon her head, her figure rendered in the Hellenistic civic tradition. She holds a rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left, symbolising the fortune and prosperity of the city of Magnesia. A star appears in the field behind her figure. The reverse legend, arranged around the periphery, names the presiding grammateus and the civic ethnic of the Magnetes.
