Obverse description Draped and cuirassed laureate bust of Commodus, lightly bearded, facing right and seen from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial portrait renders the young co-emperor in a three-quarter rear view, a presentation characteristic of certain Mysian civic bronzes of the Antonine period. The obverse legend arcs around the bust in Greek characters identifying the emperor.
