| Obverse description | Youthful draped bust of the personified Roman Senate (ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ), facing left, the head adorned with a wreath of berries or laurel, with flowing wavy hair falling to the shoulder. The bust is rendered in the classicizing provincial style characteristic of Carian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The encircling Greek legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ ('Sacred Senate') runs along the border of the flan within a beaded rim. |
