| Beschrijving keerzijde | Asclepius, the god of medicine, stands facing with head turned to the left, rendered in a static frontal pose typical of provincial Greek coinage. He is depicted in long robes, leaning upon his serpent-entwined staff (the kerykeion of Asclepius), which rises vertically beside him. The encircling ethnic legend identifies the issuing city of Cibyra. The style is consistent with the provincial workshops of Lycia-Pamphylia during the Severan period. |
