| Beschrijving keerzijde | The Pharos of Alexandria depicted as a multi-tiered lighthouse tower, rendered schematically with a broad base, an intermediate platform flanked by what appear to be tritons or sea-creatures on either side, and a crowning upper stage surmounted by a standing statue. The Pharos, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, was a celebrated symbol of Alexandria and appears frequently on the city's coinage. The regnal year date L ΚΑ (year 21) is inscribed to the left of the monument in the field. |
