| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and scale armour rendered in fine detail. The imperial effigy is rendered in the conventional provincial style of Asia Minor, with the laureate wreath clearly delineated around the head. A circular Greek legend frames the bust within the border of dots. |
